Nicholas Allen KC discusses the changing role of barristers and Resolution’s Code of Practice

The role of a barrister has evolved significantly over the years, and Resolution’s Year of the Code provides an opportunity to reflect on how those changes align with the principles set out in Resolution’s Code of Practice.  

In the latest issue of The Review (Jan/Feb 2025), Nicholas Allen KC of 29 Bedford Row explores this evolution and how barristers can contribute to a less confrontational approach in family law. 

With a focus in this issue on the Code’s requirement to ‘Reduce or manage any conflict and confrontation’ as the first of focus of the year, Nicholas considers how advocacy has evolved and how the Code continues to shape best practice.
