Alexis Campbell KC attends WOW 15th anniversary at Buckingham Palace

Alexis Campbell KC had the honour of attending a reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate 15 years of the Women of the World (WOW) Festival, an event championing gender equality and the achievements of women and girls worldwide.

Hosted by Her Majesty The Queen, WOW’s President since 2015, the event brought together female leaders from across industries including business, education, and the arts. Her Majesty also met young women and girls involved in WOW’s young people programmes, which focus on gender inequality and promoting inclusion for the next generation. 

WOW, founded by Jude Kelly CBE in 2010, has grown into a global movement, holding 150 events in 71 locations and reaching over 1.2 million people.

The Queen’s speech reinforced the importance of continuing to push for change, following the example of those who refuse to accept ‘no’ for an answer.

Bringing together trailblazers, advocates, and young changemakers, the evening was a powerful reminder of what has been achieved and how much more there is to do.
