Nicholas Allen QC appointed Deputy High Court Judge

29 Bedford Row is delighted to announce that Nicholas Allen QC has been appointed by the Lord Chief Justice to sit as a Deputy High Court Judge. He will hear cases in the Family Division of the High Court and in the Family Court. 

Nicholas will sit as a deputy judge for up to six weeks each year, and will also continue to practice full time from Chambers.

The appointment is for a single fixed six-year term and Nicholas is appointed along with 39 other new deputy judges following an open competition run by the Judicial Appointments Commission.

Nicholas was previously appointed to sit in the Family Court as a Recorder in 2016. He qualified as an IFLA finance arbitrator in the same year. He also regularly conducts Private FDR Appointments.
