Debate on the Law Commission Report on financial remedies on divorce

On Wednesday 21 May Nicholas Allen KC will be joining Jessica Reid from Dawson Cornwell to debate against Alexander Chandler KC of 1KBW and Rachel Cooper of Coram Chambers. 

Chaired by Mr. Justice Williams, the debate will explore a fun twist on the Law Commission’s December 2024 Report on financial remedies on divorce. Nicholas and Jessica will argue for the retention of discretion, while Alexander and Rachel will advocate for its removal—though a 'Joker' card held by the Chair may force speakers to switch sides mid-argument.
