29 Bedford Row supports careers evening for under represented students
24 July 2024We greatly enjoyed meeting an impressive and inspiring group of students from under represented backgrounds at last night's Lord Edmund-Davies Legal Education Trust (LEDLET) event.
Nicholas Allen KC, James Shortall and friends from Coram Chambers were able to offer advice and tips in getting into a career in the law.
LEDLET is a charity which introduces Welsh students from lower socio-economic backgrounds to the law. The aim is to encourage the students to aim high and to give lie to the myth that a career in the law is only available to a select few. LEDLET seeks to reassure students that allegedly ‘not coming from the right background’ should never deter them from applying. The charity pays for travel and accommodation and even buys the students appropriate dress for interviews.
