29 Bedford Row members have strong year supporting Advocate

To date in 2024, our members have taken on 11 pieces of pro bono work through Advocate alone. This work has been undertaken by five different members of Chambers: Clare Renton, Conor Fee, Jasmine Knapman, Max Lewis, and Rosie Vorri. We are hugely grateful to them and the other members of 29 Bedford Row who are taking on pro bono work through other avenues. We are also grateful to our pro bono champion Shannon Knight who does essential work in coordinating pro bono efforts.

Earlier this year, 29 Bedford Row signed up to The Chambers Pro Bono Framework. Advocate is the only charity to provide pro bono legal help in all areas of law nationwide, across all levels from tribunals through to the Supreme Court. Its clients are frequently the most vulnerable members of society. When they come to Advocate, the charity is often their last hope. In the last year, applications for help have increased by over 25%, making current levels of activity the highest in its 28-year history.
