Chambers News
29 Bedford Row has signed up to Advocate’s Chambers Pro Bono Framework.
25 June 2024The Framework provides chambers with an opportunity to encourage more barristers to undertake pro bono work and to make a real difference to the lives of people who are in need of legal assistance but who cannot afford to pay or obtain legal aid.
29BR has appointed two Advocate Pro Bono Champions, set targets around numbers of members participating in pro bono work, will organise a seminar in chambers on pro bono work to encourage the pro bono ethos amongst members and will report to Advocate on progress.
The decision to further support Advocate in this way builds on the existing relationship with Support Through Court – which funds volunteer work to ensure that no one should face court alone - where 29 Bedford Row is a Guardian level supporter.
